Solar PV Panels
GES Mechanical of Doncaster are experts in solar photovoltaic (PV) and solar power systems for all residential and commercial sectors. The sun is a complete renewable resource and is a constant and consistent source of energy.
Solar PV systems not only convert solar radiation into free electricity but will also earn you money through the Government’s feed in tariff. As well as this they help you to reduce your electricity bill which is a massive attraction for most people who decide to have them installed.
The panels don’t necessarily need direct sunlight to work and can still generate some electricity even on a dull and cloudy day. The cells on the panel convert the sunlight into electricity, which can be used to run your household appliances and lighting.
You can earn up to an impressive £800 per year with the current 15.44p per kWh rate which is tax free and guaranteed by the UK Government. The scheme is also inflation linked and will last for at least 20 years.
How do solar panels work?
Solar PV panels simply converts the energy of the sun into usable electricity. The PV panels are usually installed on the roof of your property and would ideally face towards a south east to south west direction. The panels are then wired up to an inverter, which is usually installed in your loft area or garage. This piece of kit converts the generated electricity from direct current (DC) into usable alternating current (AC) for home use.
The Solar PV system is then connected to your house electrics and to the National Grid. This means that any surplus electricity produced by the system that is not needed in your home can be exported back to the grid. Similarly when the system is not providing enough power for your home, you can import the amount you need back from the grid.
