Our comprehensive central heating and gas boiler breakdown and repair packages are fast and efficient.
As an energy source, biomass can either be used directly, or converted into other energy products such as biofuel.
Biomass is both sustainable and generally carbon neutral. This is because the carbon released in the combustion process is offset by the carbon trapped in the organic matter by photosynthesis during its growth.
GES Mechanical of Doncaster are accredited by the Microgeneration Certificate Scheme (MCS). We can provide and install a biomass boiler from as small as 6kW for a residential property to a larger scale 200kW for commercial properties.
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is available for all commercial biomass boiler installations and is now available for domestic properties.
Affordable heating fuel: although the price of wood fuel varies considerably, it is usually cheaper than other heating options especially fossil fuels.
Financial support: wood fueled biomass boiler systems could benefit from the RHI (see commercial example at the bottom of the page).
A low-carbon option: the carbon dioxide emitted when wood is burned is the same amount that was absorbed over the months and years that the plant was growing. The process is sustainable as long as new plants continue to grow in place of those used for fuel.
There are some carbon emissions caused by the cultivation, manufacture and transportation of the fuel. However, as long as the fuel is sourced locally, these are much lower than the emissions from fossil fuels.
